1995 Chevrolet Blazer Problems

Windshield Wipers May Fail Due to Faulty Wiper Motor Control Board

On vehicles with intermittent windshield wipers, the wiper motor circuit board may fail and cause the wipers to stop working at times. Replacing the circuit board should resolve the issue. Some vehicles were recalled for this problem and some were not. You will need to check with your local dealer to find out if a specific vehicle was included.

Check Engine Light/Rough Idle Due to Stuck Open EGR Valve

The EGR valve may stick open causing a rough idle and the Check Engine Light light to illuminate. Our technicians tell us that a piece of carbon may become stuck in the valve causing this problem. Cleaning the valve will usually correct this condition, in some rare cases the valve will need to be replaced.

Driveability Problems Due to Internal Distributor Fault

The distributor may develop internal faults. This can cause a rough running engine or stalling condition, the Check Engine Light may or may not illuminate. Our technicians tell us that the distributor should be overhauled or replaced to correct this concern.

My '95 Blazer must have been built on a Monday, because from the day I bought it, I have had nothing but trouble with it. Fortunately, I decided to buy a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty on it because I think I've replaced almost every single major organ in that truck...with the exception of the engine! It's now 2011, and things have finally calmed down. But its my second "Home Depot" vehicl...
