2001 Cadillac DeVille RecallsIgnition Lock Cylinder Concern
Excess weight on the key ring can cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position without warning, turning off the engine. This defect can also affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. Dealers will install two 13mm key rings and key insert into the vehicle's ignition keys to correct this concern.
Cadillac has recalled 2000-2002 DeVille vehicles because the seat belt retractors may not lock as required when in an accident. This increases the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Dealers will install a retainer kit to the safety belt pretensioners.
Cadillac has recalled 2001 DeVille vehicles because the sunvisor center support does not comply with safety requirements. In the event of a collision, an abnormally high chance of injury exists if an occupant contacts the sunvisor center support. Dealers will replace the sunvisor center support.
