2009 Cadillac CTS Recalls

The Engine May Stall

The weight on the key ring and/or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine and increasing the risk of a crash. In the event of a crash, if the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy as expected. Dealers will provide two replacement key rings, and vehicles with slotted keys will receive key inserts to correct this concern. Note: Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring.

Rear Suspension Link May Become Loose

The lock nuts securing the toe link portion of the rear suspension may loosen and cause a clanking type noise. In some cases, the toe link could separate and cause the rear wheel to turn in and out uncontrollably. This can result in a loss of vehicle control, which increases the risk of a crash. Toe links will be inspected and replaced as necessary and new lock nuts will be installed. At this time, there is no scheduled start date for this recall. The GM recall number is 11029.

Instrument Panel and Glove Box Do Not Provide Proper Crash Protection

The instrument panel and glove compartment may not be manufactured to proper crash protection standards. Dealers will replace the glove compartment assembly and in some vehicles modify the instrument panel structure free of charge to resolve the concern.
