Illumination of the Check Engine Light can be caused by a loose or worn gas cap.

Vehicles with certain V6 engines may illuminate the Check Engine Light one or more of the following codes: P0011, P0014, P0021, P0024, P0341, P0346, P0336, or P0391. Our technicians tell us that some vehicles may require a powertrain control module (PCM) software update to correct this issue. Other vehicles may have excess camshaft end play on one or both cylinder heads which will need to be corrected using special procedures outlined by GM.

2009 Cadillac CTS Recalls

The lock nuts securing the toe link portion of the rear suspension may loosen and cause a clanking type noise. In some cases, the toe link could separate and cause the rear wheel to turn in and out uncontrollably. This can result in a loss of vehicle control, which increases the risk of a crash. Toe links will be inspected and replaced as necessary and new lock nuts will be installed. At this time, there is no scheduled start date for this recall. The GM recall number is 11029.

The heated washer module under the hood could overheat due to excessive current draw. Under certain conditions, this could result in an under hood fire. This previous recall attempt in 2008 to repair this concern did not have the expected success. Dealers will now permanently disable and remove the heated washer module to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin on June 20, 2010.

The software for the passenger side air bag deactivation feature may be faulty. This could cause the passenger side air bag to deploy when not desired, or conversely, may not allow deployment when it should. This could cause injury in an accident. Dealers will reprogram the passenger sensing system module. The General Motors recall number is 08373. This recall began on November 18, 2008.
