The throttle position sensor (TPS) on the Cadillac CTS-V is notorious for failure which causes:

This issue is related to the throttle position sensor, and can be caused by faulty wiring to the TPS, bad connection at the TPS, or a failed TPS.

I purchased a 2012 Red CTS-V off the lot of a Houston area Cadillac dealer. Shortly after purchasing the car, I heard a rattle when accelerating on to the highway. I immediately set up an appointment to the dealer to have it looked at. When speaking to the service advisor, he asked if I put "regular" gas in the tank (off to a REAL bad start). Although this car is extremely fast, it is still using an old school pushrod engine with aftermarket cheap OEM junk. Tires were gone after 5K miles, gearbox and supercharger failed shortly after purchasing. Buy an AMG you'll be much happier
