2010 BMW X6 xDrive RecallsDriver's Frontal Air Bag Inflator Ruptures And Sprays Metal Fragments
The driver's frontal air bag inflator may deploy the air bag with excessive pressure, resulting in the inflator rupturing and causing metal debris to be sprayed onto vehicle occupants. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag free of charge to resolve the concern.
On vehicles equipped with an 8 or 12 cylinder turbocharged engine, the circuit board for the electric water pump may overheat. This could lead to smoldering of the pump and/or an electrical fire in the engine compartment. Dealers will replace the auxiliary water pump to correct this concern.
The windshield is bonded to its framework, not only creating a watertight seal, but contributing to the structural integrity of the roof. 210 vehicles were assembled with insufficient bonding in the upper right area of the windshield. In the event of a roll over type crash, the stability of the roof could be affected, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will remove and reinstall the windshield and re-install it with the proper bonding to correct this concern.
