Engine failure

Engine hydrolocked secondary to an injector failing. The car had been sputtering a little. BMW dealer in Indianapolis replace the low pressure fuel sensor. The next day the car was started and still had a sputter. No error codes. The injector allowed fuel to pour into a cylinder at 1600 psi. since fluid does not compress the rod and piston took the blow resulting in a bent rod and a knock. The Auxiliary Water Pump May Smolder and/or Catch Fire

On vehicles equipped with an 8 or 12 cylinder turbocharged engine, the circuit board for the electric water pump may overheat. This could lead to smoldering of the pump and/or an electrical fire in the engine compartment. Dealers will replace the auxiliary water pump to correct this concern.

Only had it for 1,000 miles, purchased used w/ 58l miles. Car seems to be in excellent condition. CONS: I've experienced the common accelerator tip-in problem -- can't give it the pedal slowly, just seems to balk -- more pedal & then the turbos kick in & you zoom off.
