Question: car wont stay idled

As i come to a stop sign the car dies, unless i keep the foot on the gas it dies. I have checked thevaccuum hoses they are in tact.

    You could still have a vacuum leak from the intake manifold for example. Or there could be an un-metered air leak from a broken air tube or air box.

    Or - you could have weak fuel pressure - check base fuel pressure also.

    I had a friend check for vaccum leaks... came up null? Where on the manifold or how can i check myself?

    Most people check for vacuum leaks by having a diagnostic tool hooked up to see what the fuel trims look like, and then they "richen" the air around the intake manifold or wherever they suspect a vacuum leak. This is done by introducing a fuel like propane gas in the area. Some people use carb cleaner or similar.

    You could have a throttle body issue (very dirty) or an idle air control valve issue too.
