my car has been inconsistent when i go to turn the egnition, sometimes it turns right up and sometimes nothing happens for a while, yesterday it just did nothing and stayed that way. i think it's the starter but i cant take it to the shop because i cant move it, and i don't want to pay for a tow truck if it's a quick fix. please advice.

Bret Bodas from RepairPal Test Shop, February 02, 2010, 10:38ReplyMasterThe only quick fixes I can think of is to check the battery cables, make sure they are tight, if one is loose it could cause this. Also, if you have another ignition key, try that one. Other than that, you'll need to have someone look at this who can fault trace the starting circuit, which means you may need to have the vehicle towed.
