car won't start, turn key and hear a clicking sound, gauges for MPH and RPM goes to max. and return to zero

This sounds like a low voltage situation. Check the battery cables, make sure they are tight. Check the battery voltage or try jump starting the battery and see if that helps.

Ours did the same thing. Changing the battery fixed it.
