1998 Volkswagen Beetle Question: car won't start

 Rookie

Sometimes my car won't start, the engine won't kick over. I've had this problem for about 10 mths. I've been to 2 mechanics and had fuel pump replaced twice, new starter. major tune up. Recently I took it to the dealer and had the cadilac converter replaced. Today after work it wouldn't start again. Please help!!

    When it doesn't start, does the engine turn over?

    I am having the same problem. I got ot scanned and these three codes came up P1580, PO303 and PO322. Any ideas?

    mines a 1999 new beetle and mine just died on me at a stop sign, engine wouldnt turn over lights came on, then tried starting it again nathing. i replaced the battery cable. it runs now

    It could be the crank trigger, Mine is a 2001 vw beetle and that has happened before to me before I got it fixed, now it rides like a dream.
