Question: car will not start

 Rookie

The car will not turn over,The lights work but its is just dead when I turn the key.Does not make any noise.

    Try putting the transmission in neutral, see if that works, if it does the transmission gear positions sensor is bad or out of adjustment.
    Check the battery and cables.
    The ignition switches and the starter motors can fail, but you will need to have someone perform a diagnosis to determine where the fault lies.Let us know what you find out!
