 Rookie

my car always has check engine light on...now my car turns on and then off..the mechanic said he checked everything, and needs a code to verify if the fuel injection...help!

  The check engine light related problems I have sen most on the Echo are evaporative emission system related and misfire codes caused by a malfunctioning air flow meter (also Oxygen sensor failure). None of these cause the symptoms you describe. It sounds more like a bad electrical connection, relay or possibly an ignition switch problem. If it is a battery connection problem it will loose power to the computer so system monitor tests will not be "passed" and should be picked up on a scan tool.

  o.k. the mechanci has tried everything...no response.,
  another thing..my car had an ignition coil replaced a few weeks before the problem and it was not responding well..(bad coil?)...anyway, I was driving the car with that problem until it failed completely...
