Question: car stops at about 5 miles every time when cool

when cool car stops every time at about 3 to 5 miles. seems like loading up. will restart and after about 5 restarts will start running more normal. gas mileage down about 4 to 5 miles per gallon. had new egr added and ran great for about three weeks then started same thing again.

start with basic checks. fuel pressure, spark check. one of them will be missing and then we can focus on that system

check engine light will normally come on sometime during drive. has uaually indicated egr. not always on when car seems to overload and stop. horrible exaust or engine smell when first restarting which usually takes agout 4 or five times while coasting or stopped.

HAVE SCAN TEST FOR COOLANT TEMP. SENSOR WITH COLD ENG. SHOULD READ
THE SAME AS OUTSIDE (AMBIENT) TEMP. HAVE SENSOR TESTED MECH. WILL
KNOW HOW TO DO THIS. STILL MAY BE EGR RELATED.

YOU ARE RUNNING VERY RICH HAVE DIAG DONE. THESE ARE KNOWN FOR BAD MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS ALSO
