1992 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Question: Car seems to be in neutral while in drive

The car seems to be in neutral even though it reads to be in drive. I've been told it needs transmission fluid. Is that correct?

    Low transmission could very well cause the problem you are describing, If the fluid is indeed low it should be filled to the correct level and the transmission operation rechecked. If you are still having a problem then further diagnoses would be required. If filling the fluid corrects your concern then I would suggest having the transmission and cooler system inspected for leaks.
