2001 Ford Escort Q&A

2001 Ford Escort Question: car ran hot and cut off. replaced plugs. it still wont restart

car ran hot cut off and wont start. plugs have been replaced since still wont start -
Answer 1
Not sure why it got hot -- could it be a cylinder head gasket that has failed? Maybe as a result of the overheating. If so, starting the engine could be difficult. Have you verified the timing belt is intact? Kind of a wide open diagnosis at this point - basic testing needs to be done and then a conclusion can be reached. -

It might have a crack cylinder head mine has a crack but doesn't overheat. I put liquid gasket on the crack. -
