Three times in the last week the car just dies completely when coming to a stop. All dash lights come on. Put it in park & car starts so far. Very scary.

Check the idle air control valve, or MAF sensor if you have the check engine light on get a diagnostic

You will most likely have a code. get it retrieved and traced down. A common problem for dying at stops on these cars is the Crank Sensor, but get it diagnosed first.

I have a 2006 Kia Sportage and when driving on the motorway it would cut out and stop,finally found the problem, it was the pump in the diesel tank, cost to repair $1300 nzd, goes like a dream, kia has done 107000 klm
