Question: Car making funny noise

I own a 1997 C-230 in Virginia. When I lift the hood I hear noise coming from the belt. Any suggestions or recommendations on how to fix this or what this means.

    It's important to see if any of the pulleys are out of alignment, if so, they will need to be corrected. If all the pulleys are aligned correctly, then look at the condition of the belt, if it has cracks, then it should be replaced. If the belt appears OK, then it may be glazed or contaminated, or you may have a bearing in one of the pulleys that is starting to fail.
