 Rookie

I was driving and began hearing a clicking noise that sounded like it was originating from the front of the car.
The transmission then disengaged and would not re-engage. After stopping, the transmission still would not engage in any gear. I'm not familiar with front wheel drive but am hoping there is a u joint that may be the problem.
