2000 Plymouth Neon Question: Car just died while driving on the highway

 Rookie

Today my mom was driving on the highway and her just died -she said lights came on and it just stopped running -when the tow truck driver came I asked him what he thought was the fluid under her car was -he said antifreeze but my mom said the car did not overheat ....after we got home and opened the hood we checked where you put oil in the car and it smelled like gas ...any thoughts

    Hi, were you able to find out what was causing the car to stop running?

    The fluid could be acid that gushed out from the battery that has completely died, hence the smell of burning rubber or acid.
