Question: car jerks when changing from 1st to 2nd if i take foot off gas at at that moment

only when changing from 1st to 2nd gear this happens..short distances where i have to press break as the car is about to change into second gear causing me to take foot off gas. this does not appen if i have foot on gas pedal even very lightly.

    Sounds like an engine misfire, but we would have to test drive the vehicle with the proper equipment to determind if it is engine related or transmission related. Please feel free to contact us to schedule a test drive for your 1998 BMW 528i.
