Car Ignition on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I got into my car last night and it would not crank, none of my lights would cut on or anything. I got someone to give me a jump and the lights came on when I connected the cables to give it a jump. The car never did start but at least the lights came on. Can anyone tell me what is going on? PLEASE HELP

Check faulty grounds, also check your battery and see how many volts it has DC with a multimeter should read 12.6 to 12.7 for a good battery. If that checks out, then check your starter. My bet is on your battery though

remove the battery and have it charged if you can. jump starting these newer cars tends to damage the computers from voltage surges. if you cannot remove, take off the negative cable and get a trickle charger and let it charge the battery. then take it to a shop to see if there are any other issues.
