2004 Dodge Stratus Q&A

Running rough when at idle or when first placing it into gear is typically a sign of having too much air coming in (air leak, vacuum leak) or fuel pressure that is too low. Have the vehicle checked, as stalling is a serious safety issue of course. - DaveJHM

when i hit the brakes or slow down, and the rpm's drop below 1000 rpms, the car jerks real bad
In the last month my car has stalled out when slowing down and turning 3 times. Last night it did it, and now won't start. It almost sounds like a timing belt, but it wouldn't get any gas while it was stalling no matter how I pumped the gas pedal.
The last time it stalled the check engine light also came on. It seem to have a rough idle when going about 50. Any ideas would be helpful before I have it towed and not know a thing.
