2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Question: Car hesitates bad and even dies while driving. Can go to neutral to restart.

Was periodic but continuous now. Studders after idle speed ican press gas pedal to try keep from dying or to gain speed or to stop the hesitation

    First check for any vacuum leak anywhere near throttle body, mass air flow sensor or intake manifold. Even a small crack or disconnect will cause this. Is there a check engine light on?

    Will check hoses. Check engine light been on since i changed timing belt. No codes. Car will start and run but cant get up speed cus of the thehesitation

    if the light is on there are issues. seek a help with someone that has a good scanner. there has to be codes
