Question: Car has disabled its self from starting

At first it only happened a couple times and if it was "slammed" into park it would start but not it will not start at all. There is a light of a car with a key in the middle of it flashing. I assume that its saying its preventing its self from starting..

    Try putting your foot on the brake....putting the car in neutral then starting it
