During the hot summer days, my car door locks "lock-up" and cannot be unlocked. Using the key, I can unlock the driver's door only, but the other locks will not unlock. After the the air cools down in the evening, the locks start operating again normally. What is the problem and what should I do to fix it?

This website has all the answers for this problem (and similar locking and window issues):

It is the GM5 module behind the glove box that is the root of the problem. I replaced the two relays that I ordered from here and now it works great. You need the correct tools (solder sucker and high temperature soldering iron) to do it yourself.
It took me about 1/2 hour to remove and replace the unit and another 1/2 hour to replace the relays. The instructions are also on the web site above.
    Cheers!
