Ok - my car is a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino - but they don't even list that model on this site...anyway - My car usually starts. 6/7 days a week it will start and then I will never have a problem again. When it doesn't it makes a sound like it wants to turn it over but it doesn't have the juice. When I get a jump and charge it up from the other car for 10 minutes, it will finally turn over and be good for another week. Nothing is left on, but there is the possibility that some wires somewhere are crossed and draining the battery - but I don't think that is it. It could be that the alternator isn't fully charging the battery either...or it might be the solenoid coil...any suggestions? Thank you!
Car doesn't start every time - but most times it does on 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Sounds like a weak battery but make sure your cables are clean and tight and if that dosn't solve it stop by your local Napa store and have them load test the battery it will tell you the condition of the battery and then work down the line next is the starter

My Husbands 96 does the same thing, sometimes, we figured out it was the chip in the key, once we paid it off, and got the spare it never has problems! Hope this helps, that is if yours has a safety chip in it!

hahaha - well I wish an '86 El Camino had a safety chip in it. The problem ended up being the starter. The solenoid coil went bad - once i replaced that it has never had any problems related to starting since.
