Question: car cranks and cranks tries to fire then dies, could it be the fuel pump?

i parked the car in the garage last night. It ran fine all day but when I went to start it this morning it wont start. It just cranks and tries to fire even with the accelerator pressed to the floor. Any ideas??

    It could be the fuel pump. You need to check and see if you getting fuel to the cylinders. If not its the fuel pump, if you are getting fuel, need to check for spark at the plugs. Get fuel pressure tested first.

    Thanks for the help as it turns out it was the fuel pump. I put a new one in and it worked after the air was removed.At first it did the same thing but I think i flooded it. i let it set for awhile then tried it again and it started and so far is running fine.

    SCAN CODES THESE HAVE ISSUES WITH CRANK SENSORS.I THINK THERE IS A POSS DEALER ASST PROGRAM ON THAT ISSUE

    Now that it is running I will take it to the dealer and have them run the diagnostics on it to see if there is anything else. thanks

    Another possibility is a plugged fuel filter. Has it ever been changed?
