Question: Car bogs down in hot weather only

my taurus has 120,000 miles on it. Only in hot weather-- it will start bogging down and I have to pull over turn off the motor and sit for 2 to 5 minutes. In Tennessee I only have to deal with it for about 4 months out of the year. I have put it in the shop twice and it still does it. Could it be the fuel pump??? Or what?? Ford 1996

    It could indeed be the fuel pump. Hard to say until the problem occurs and you have a fuel pressure gauge attached.

    I so appreciate you replying. Neither mechanic could tell me what was wrong. A friend suggested it might be the fuel pump.
