car alarm on 1991 Nissan Maxima

the car alarm is going off for no reason. we do not have a remote for the car i was wondering if there was a generic key pad code that we could use to turn it off. the only to turn it off right now is to disconnnect the battery

Seems to me that the alarm is useless since you don't have the remote. Why not eliminate it, that's what I'd do. Take it to a Nissan specialist and have him remove it entirely. Nothing more annoying than messed up car alarm system. Or, if you really need an alarm, go to an auto alarm shop and have them install a new one that works.
