Question: cant hold timing gear in place to replace water pump?

water pump needs relaceing i broke pully trying to remove it i need to kno how to keep timeing chain from moveint can i clamp it some way while i remove water pump?

    Snap on and Matco make a special tool to hold camshaft pulleys. You can try using the old timing belt wrapped around the pulley and use a large channel lock pliers to open the bolt. The crankshaft bolt is usually very tight I think it is SK tools make a socket that works great for loosening the crank pulley bolt.
