sounds like a starter motor failure. have it checked at a shop and verified.

Sounds like the starter/starter solenoid has failed., needs to be properly diagnosed but that's most likely what you will find. See if you have power reaching the starter on the small wire when the ignition switch is turned to the start position (if not the ignition switch electrical portion has failed, it is replaceable separate to the ignition lock.
