my buddy has a Toyota Celica, and like Honda, they are mainly made is japan (they have factories elsewhere) but he was talking about how in Japan, they are required to replace their engines every 30,000 miles, for efficiency. that means he can buy a 30,000 mile engine for around 6-7 hundred dollars. i think that applies to Honda also, but if it doesn't you can still get a low mileage engine for anywhere from 400-1000. but i have had that problem with my friends honda... but it was a broken head gasket. please make sure your head gasket is in tact before you purchase another motor. it could save you a LOT of money. especially if you do it yourself. i fixed his for $75, a few cuts, some bruised knuckles and quite a few hours of time.
