Question: can you change the transmission pump in a 1998 jag xk8

the tranny shifts fine in the top end it slips in first gear a little i had it checked out the mechanic said that it could be a tranny pump

     Master

    it would be a waste of your money to tear down a transmission for a pump. rebuild only and replace all
    the clutches/seals etc.
