THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENIOD LOCKS THE SHIFTER FOR SAFETY REASONS. YOU CAN TURN ON IGN SWITCH THEN PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURN OFF KEY SO YOU CAN PUSH CAR OR JUMP POWER TO THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH TO FOOL THE SOLENOID

this model 300s has no key it only has a key fob that you keep in your pocket and when you want car to start you step on brake and push button. Thanks

2013 Chrysler 300. There is a black oblong cell phone holder next to shifter. Lift up the black oblong holder and underneath it is a release mechanism. Pull up hard on the yellow rope (could be orange) and the park brake will disengage and the shifter will go into neutral automatically. Simple yet complicated. Great if you are a repoman.

Once you get into neutral using the procedure above, how do you fix to get back into park? Does it need to be taken to dealership?

I believe it is spring loaded . Pry arm down back into place. Not while vehicle is moving. Do you have the drivers hand book. I believe the answer is there.
