1996 GMC Jimmy Question: Can the baffle in your gas tank cause your truck to stutter ?

my baffle is gone and now my truck skips help me

    How do you know the baffle is gone? If the baffle came loose and somehow blocked the fuel pump pick up or the tank vent then it could theoretically cause fuel starvation. Check ignition system is in tact, no vacuum leaks, fuel delivery and volume and engine mechanical integrity. Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....     i think its gone because the gas gauge goes crazy when you accelerate and brake
