Question: CAN OBD CODE READER/EOBD SCANNER Compatable with this Van?

I was thinking about purchising a CAN CODE READER/EOBD SCANNER to use on this type of van and wondering if it is comatable to have in cheking and troubleshooting my electrical problems on this type of van before I take it to my mechanic to have it serviced.

    when you pull a code. it never identifies a bad part, just a failed system. you can read them with a code puller but it will only make sense to a tech familiar with these systems.
    let the techs do there job. whatever you do, do not erase the codes. they contain information we need to help identify the issue.
    code readers are available at parts stores. they run from 30-500 dollars.
