2013 Chevrolet Equinox Q&A
2013 Chevrolet Equinox Question: Can I return vehicle? Can this be a big problem?
chances are you just may need a new gas cap. They are pretty cheap. Or take it to a local shop and get a smoke test done to find a leak in the evap system. All are relatively cheap - BTSQW
BRAND NEW car? Take it back and have it fixed under warranty. Don't feel uncomfortable about this, the light may have gone away after tightening it...you just have to wait for it to test itself. - your.mechanic
MAYBE THE DEALERSHIP DRIVER THAT FILLED TANK DIDN'T TIGHTEN ALL THE WAY. GO TO DEALER SHIP AND EXPLAIN THE ISSUE YOU HAVE. THE CAR IS FINE MOST LIKELY HUMAN ERROR - globalhelper
Agree with globalhelper. IF you notice on the gas cap , it says if left loose the check engine light may come on , and in the owners manual it says not to have engine running when refueling or the light also may come on. Odds are the porter who filled the tank , had the vehicle running while filling up and caused the light to come on. Have dealer check and while your in there waiting , spend some time reading the owners manual and warranty booklet. TWO of the least read books ever published , I'm sure. Enjoy your Equinox. - ziptie12
