Question: Can a 17" tires replace 16" using same rims?

Dumb question, but I've been advised we need 4 new tires and thought I'd ask. Our car has close to 150k miles. Thought 17" tires might give a better ride butI don't want to spend for rims if I don't have to. Please, advise. Thanks.

    No, you will need 17" rims. Generally, I recommend staying with the stock wheel size. When you increase your rim size, the sidewall of the tire decreases, giving you a stiffer ride and handling, decrease comfort level. I am assuming you are referring to comfort, and a smaller sidewall will reduce comfort
