Question: camshaft synchronizer

What does the eng. synchronizer do.also does it require a special tool 2 remove & install it? does installing it require lining up certain timing marks??

    There is a special tool for removing and installing the synchronizer.

    The synchronizer basically does the same thing as the distributor. You get your timing and distribute spark.
