On the affected vehicles, the jam nut on the rear suspension toe adjuster link may not be tightened to the proper specification. A loose toe adjuster link could cause the vehicle to sway or wander at highway speeds and eventual failure of the link. Failure of the toe adjuster link will cause an abrupt change in the vehicle's alignment increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the torque of both left and right rear toe link adjuster lock nuts, and replace the parts if there is evidence of damage or a loose link.
Due to a potential problem with seatbelt pretensioners, front seat occupants may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will replace both front the driver's and the passenger's lap belt pretensioners to correct this concern. Remedy parts are not currently available, owners will be sent a notification when parts become available.
The driver's and/or passenger's seat may suddenly drop to its lowest position because a bolt securing the height adjuster can fall out. This unexpected movement of the driver's seat could cause a distraction, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the height adjuster bolts in both front seats to correct this concern.
Due to an incomplete weld on the seat hook bracket assembly, the front seats in the affected vehicles may not stay secured in place. A seat that does not stay secured increases the risk of occupant injury in a vehicle crash. Dealers will inspect the lower seat track and replace it as necessary to correct this concern.
The weight on the key ring and/or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine and increasing the risk of a crash. In the event of a crash, if the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy as expected. Dealers will provide two replacement key rings, and vehicles with slotted keys will receive key inserts to correct this concern. Note: Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring.
Excess weight on the key ring can cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position without warning, turning off the engine. This defect can also affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. Corrosion may develop at the brake booster pump connector at the pump relay due to a missing cavity plug. This corrosion can cause excessive heat, resulting in the connector melting and possibly catching on fire. Dealers will apply sealant to the affected connector cavity plugs and re-route the vacuum pump vent hose. If damaged, the front body wiring harness will be replaced as necessary.
Certain vehicles are being recalled because of concerns with the brake lights and cruise control operation. The brake lights can come on when the brakes are not applied and/or the cruise control may disengage. These functions are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). Your GM dealer will reprogram the BCM to correct this concern.
Lug nuts tighten on the wheel studs to secure the wheels to the vehicle. These vehicles are being recalled because the lug nuts can loosen and fall off, or cause the wheel studs to break. A vibration would commonly occur as the wheel lugs loosen and continued driving with loose or missing lug nuts would result in the affected wheel falling off, increasing the risk of a crash. To correct this concern, dealers will remove and re-install the lug nuts, and perform a tire rotation free of charge.
When driving, if you let your foot off the accelerator, the engine will provide some braking effect unless your transmission is in "Sport" mode. Certain vehicles are being recalled because the transmission may unexpectedly shift into its "Sport" mode, removing the engine braking effect on these vehicles. Unexpected loss of engine braking can increase stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will update the software in the transmission control module to correct this concern.
