Cadillac DeVille DTS Problems
Oil Leak From Lower Engine Area
The engine may develop an oil leak from the lower crankcase portion of the engine block. Our technicians tell us that the engine must be removed from the vehicle to properly repair this oil leak.
Service Stability Message Due to Failed Steering Wheel Position Sensor
The steering wheel position sensor may fail, resulting in the service stability message being displayed.
Improper HVAC Temperature and/or Air Delivery Due to Failed Mode Door Actuator
One or more heater & AC (HVAC) temperature and/or air delivery mode door actuator may fail, resulting in improper temperature or air delivery. If this occurs, fault code(s) should be stored in the HVAC control module which should assist in diagnoses.
Coolant Leaks From Water Pump and Radiator
The water pump and/or the plastic side tanks on the radiator may leak causing a loss of coolant. The engine may overheat due to coolant loss. Continued coolant loss after external leaks have been repaired could indicate a blown head gasket.

Cadillac DeVille DTS Reviews
I bought my 2004 dts in the fall of 2011 for $9.000, it had 99, 572 miles on it, the interior is in mint cond the exterior is in excellent cond & has been garage kept since. This is may of 2013 & the car now has 104, 378 miles on it, I rarely drive it cause of a disability & my mom drives me everywhere I need to go in her bmw x5. Point I'm trying to make is I run it around the block every 3 days, less than 1/2 mile. One day I turned on the ac & smoke came out of the vents smelling like rubber burning, turned ac off & the smoke & smell stopped, the next day for the hell of it I turned the ac back on & experienced very cold air
& no smoke or burning smell. The ac works great sometimes & not at all other times, the smoke thru the vents & burning rubber smell occured only that one time. Still very confused & being on disability I have a very low monthly income & cannot afford to get raped by the Cadillac mechanic. Now my car won't start, just makes a click, click, click sound. Tried charging the battery, no luck. Instrument panel says 11.1 battery ok, so maybe its the starter but with rarley driving it,how can someone have these problems? If it was driven on a rregular basis I could understand, but to sit in the garage 99.9 percent of the time its soooo confusing. I know people have far worse problems, & I really do feel for them, trust me. I'm moving to MD from NC to try & get my 14yr old son back on the right track & I'm going to have to rely on my vehicle heavily like everyone else does but these extremely confusing problems are throwing a huge wrench in my way, does anyone have an idea why these problems are occurring with my car at the worst possible time? Any help would greatly be a blessing for me, I'm sooo confused as to how these problems can occur on a vehicle that sits in a garage & only gets run every few days for obvious reasons. Please help with any advice, please.
This is my third Cadillac and it will not be my last. Overall, the car has been very reliable and I still get compliments on it. I love the tight feel of the sport suspension (it does not have the tradionally soft and woosy ride of a Cadillac). The week spots are a little on the glaring side and are the same as my last Cadillac (a 2002 DeVille)--vent actuators, window regulators (I've had to replace all four windows), and A/C, heater blower motors (my last DeVille had the blower motor replaced five times).
Replaced 5 (twice on driver side) window regulators. Plastic parts on something used almost daily? Constant o2 codes. 80k miles. Drives great but too many repairs.
worst car I ever owned . Had many Cadillacs they lost my busness forever. repairs all the time. window motors all 4 many codes a.c. will not blow out of dash vents uses alot of oil 56,000 miles and falling apart
