Cadillac SRX recall 11V149000

Electronic Climate Control May Not Function Correctly
Heating & Air Conditioning, March 4, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview

A software issue with the heating and A/C (HVAC) control system may cause it to stop functioning correctly. This could reduce the ability of the system to defrost the windshield, increasing the risk of a crash.

We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the HVAC system. Please contact your General Motors dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

The HVAC system may stop functioning due to a software issue in the climate control module. System failure would reduce the driver's ability to command the defrost function. This can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. To correct the problem, dealers will reprogram the electronic control module for the HVAC. The recall is expected to begin by March 11, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11057.
