Question: cabrio hydraulic roof does not open-close at high temperature?

Hello All,
my wifes car 330icabrio is super smooth and she loves to drive it. But in summer, hot weather the hydraulic stops functioning and it does not close or open anymore? Anyone a clue? As if my wife has such problem - and I have some very bad time. Thanks.

Masterit may be that the control module for the roof is getting hot and 'acting up'. Have the roof module scanned by a good BMW tech. Also, are you making sure to keep the engine running when you move the roof? ( very important ) Good Luck!

Visitor, June 13, 2010, 16:01ReplyI have a 1999 SLK 230. I have never had a problem in 5 years with the roof opening or closing. Today it is almost 100 here in Atlanta and I had no problem putting the roof down but when I tried to raise it it gets so far and stops. Any suggestions?
