2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS500 Question: Burning Smell

When start my car it has this burning smell, but once drove for a wheel the smell goes away. I asked the guy at the dealship what was the smell and he stated that when cleaning the motor they spray some sort of chemical on it to clean it and it just take a will to burn off. If possiable can you help me figure out why I continue to smell something burning. I only had the car for 3 months in which is a used car, but with low miles (32,000)

    Does this happen every time you start the car or it is only in the morning (the first start of the day)?
    What kind of smell is it? burning plastic or burning oil? coolant smell possibly? more like a chemical smell maybe? Can you see any smoke (under the hood or from the exhaust)?

    I would think if you have had the car for 3 months, any cleaner they used 3 months ago should have burned off after a couple days or a week of driving. It sounds like you have some kind of warranty left so I would take it back to the dealer and describe the conditions under which this is happening. You may consider speaking with the service manager if you feel like you need to. hope this helps!

    When I start the car up in the morning are anything and sometime when I'm driving the car that smell comes. It's between a plastic burning, but on the other hand on other day it smell like something else. I only was aboe to drive the car for 4 days. I work out of the country so I been having the car for 3 months, but only drove the car for 4 days.

    check valve cover gasket i have same car and thats what is was.

    I have a 2009 Mazda 3 bought new. The first year I owned I swore the air exchanger smelled like mineral spirits. I looked throughout my garage but the smell comes when strarting the car regardless where it is parked. I believe it has some chemical sealant of some sort in the exhanger but it does not do it all the time. It frequently repeats for several days pending the air and weather conditions, then stops. Can't put my finger on it but the car is 1.5 years old, with 25,000.
