RepairPal Expert Overview:

In some vehicles, the steering column intermediate shaft may be too small, which could allow it to spin inside the steering column coupling. This could result in a loss of steering control and a crash could result if it happens while driving. Dealers will inspect the steering column intermediate shaft and replace it if necessary. The recall began February 7, 2003. The GM recall number is 03009.

Due to a system "latch up" condition, the windshield wipers may not operate in both low and high speeds. A compromised wiper system may result in poor visibility. Dealers will replace the wiper motor cover, which contains the microprocessor for the wiper motor.
