Buick LaCrosse recall 05V156000

A Faulty Brake Clip May Result in No Brakes
Brakes, April 26, 2005

RepairPal Expert Overview

On certain passenger vehicles a faulty brake component could lead to no brakes when stepping on the pedal, leading to a crash.

GM will notify customers of affected vehicles beginning April 26, 2005. If you have not been contacted and think this recall applies to your vehicle. You should contact your local dealership. It is helpful to have your VIN Vehicle Identification Number ready when doing so.

On certain passenger vehicles the clip that secures the pushrod to the brake pedal arm pin could have been damaged during assembly, it may come off allowing the brake booster pushrod to separate from the brake pedal. This will lead to a no brakes situation when stepping on the brake pedal, leading to an accident. The dealer will install a new brake pedal push rod bushing and retaining clip and, if the clip was missing, a new brake pedal arm assembly free of charge. The GM recall # is 05038
