When braking, left front wheel makes a rotational scraping sound. Shop that installed brakes said backing plate is touching rotor. Can this be easily adjusted?

    In most cases when the backing plate is touching a break rotor casing an abnormal noise the backing plate can easily repositioned not to touch the rotor. I would suspect this would be the case with your 1994 Infiniti G20.
