2007 Jeep Commander Q&A

2007 Jeep Commander Question: Brakes

I have just under 50,000 miles on my Jeep and have towed no more than five times with the car. My brake rotors need to be replaced (hen I step on the brakes there is a very pronounced pulsation). Was this covered under the recall? -
Answer 1
Usually brakes and other wear items are not covered -

Check first, have them measured, to see if they can be ground. When the rotors get hot they can warp slightly, or create hot spots, Having them ground is much less expensive than replacement and just as good, if not better. -
