After changing the front pads and rear shoes, I noticed the brake pedal was very soft and almost touching the floor board. I thought the brakes needed bleeding. Once I released the valves at the front left wheel and the rear passenger side wheel, they were dry. Absolutely no brake fluid was coming to drivers (left) side front wheel or the rear right wheel. Fluid is flowing very well to the right front and left rear wheels. The vehicle has ABS. Could either the master cylinder or the proportional valve be bad? Please help. What could be the problem?

You may need to use a scanner to reset the ABS. There is no proportioning valve on your car, that is what the ABS does and does 100x better. Fill the system, leave the key off and re-bleed your brakes. If your Master Cylinder went dry, it may have to be bled as well, just to get the brake fluid going again the the left side.
