Question: Brake/rotor hissing noise

I've had my brakes and rotors replaced and hear a quiet, intermittent hissing noise. I took the car back to the shop and was told it is friction because my rotors are not smooth. I was told there is nothing they can do to fix it and the noise should resolve in 1000 miles. Is this correct?

    It takes a little time for the new pads to break into the rotors so they are probably right
